How To Know If Turkey Small Bites Is Right

Small dogs with sensitive stomachs

Turkey is a novel protein that small dogs with food sensitivities are less likely to have reacted to. Gentle, digestible, and allergy-friendly.

Small dogs with itchy skin or allergies

Turkey's novelty and omega content make it the go-to for small breeds showing signs of food-related allergies — a common issue in Shih Tzus, Maltese, and Dachshunds.

Dogs that struggle with larger pieces

Turkey, Turkey Heart, and Pumpkin. Every ingredient is real, human-grade, and recognizable. No meat meals, no synthetics.

Dr Tory Waxman holding a dog

“I created Sundays because I was frustrated seeing dogs fed food I would never recommend as a vet. Every recipe starts with a question I ask myself: would I feed this to my own dog? The answer has to be yes before it goes in the bag.”

Questions About Turkey?

Is this recipe complete and balanced?

Yes. All four Sundays recipes are formulated to be complete and balanced according to AAFCO nutritional standards for all life stages, including growth of large size dogs (70 lbs. or more as an adult).

How is air-dried different from kibble or raw?

Air-drying uses gentle, low heat over time to remove moisture while preserving natural nutrients and flavor. Unlike kibble, there's no high-heat extrusion that degrades nutrition. Unlike raw or freeze-dried raw, our air-drying process includes a kill step that eliminates pathogens so there's no food safety risk and no refrigeration required.

Can I mix recipes?

Absolutely. Many Sundays families rotate between recipes or mix two together. There's no nutritional reason not to. All four recipes are complete and balanced on their own.

How long does it stay fresh?

Before opening: approximately 12 months. After opening: at least 6-8 weeks. No refrigeration needed.

What makes turkey a "novel protein"?

A novel protein is simply a protein source that your dog hasn't been regularly exposed to. Because most commercial dog foods use chicken or beef, dogs that develop food sensitivities are often reacting to those proteins specifically. Turkey is less common in dog food, which means dogs with chicken or beef sensitivities are less likely to react to it.
